Hello I am Paul Clarke founder of Moonraker Motorcycles.
Formed August 1st 1985 Moonraker Motorcycles has grown in the past Twenty Seven years from humble beginnings in my Mum's garden shed to the largest Scooter / Super Scooter & small Motorcycle / Moped dealership in East Anglia.
I had four years in the garden shed. Until back in November 1989 I took over what was Bob Gotts Motorcycles on Drayton Road. I then nurtured Moonrakers the company over the next six years working all hours until expansion led to me being able to buy out & take over the large workshops & showrooms of what was then Slaughter Motorcycles of Norwich. That was on 1st January 1995 and it is still to date Moonrakers present location 125-129 Oak Street Norwich.
Back in 1985 it was just me Paul. Now in 2012 we have myself as well as Stacey who has been with me since leaving School she is in charge of Spares/Website/Stores & Sales/Design...not to mention Henry the Hoover Operation!! We also have Ben who has been both with us and in the Motorcycle trade in and around Norwich for over Ten years. This bringing both vast experience & knowledge to Moonrakers. All Three of us, that is Ben, Stacey & Myself are at the front of shop in sales of Scooters & Motorcycles / Helmets / Jackets/ Gloves and the day to day running on the shop. Then we have Dale and Mike they are situated in the Workshop and are both fully trained Piaggio Vespa technicians as well as being certified to undertake MOT testing of all makes. Dale has been working with me for over Fifteen years & has him self been a trained Motorcycle Mechanic working in Norwich for over Twenty Seven years. Mike joined both me & the Motorcycle trade after being firstly a Car Mechanic for Four years. That was some Six years ago. Then in the back ground sorting out all the admin is my Wife & fellow Director Karen. She runs our Accounts as well as Sales & Shop support from time to time. Karen & I have been Married for over Nineteen years & have two sons Charlie & William.
All my staff work full-time and are all fully trained, highly competent and reassuringly approachable.
We have over 120 new Scooters and Bikes in stock we also can have up to 30 pre-owned at any one time.
At this moment in time and for many years previously we have been acknowledged by Piaggio Vespa UK for being in the top five of the leading distributors of their products Piaggio, Vespa, MP3 Gilera and Derbi Scooters and Motorcycles . And I am proud to say Piaggio have advised me that Moonraker is to be acredited as a Prime dealership.
We have been accredited with awards courtesy of Peugeot Scooters in the years 1998-2002 in their recognition that we offer Outstanding Product Presentation, Excellent sales, Customer Service and most pleasing of all, Sales Achievement & customer commitment.
We sell quality clothing & safety helmets at low cost fair prices for all riders Male & Female from the 16 year old novice and the mature commuter who has just sold the car & is now starting out on two wheels to the more experienced commuters & Motorcycle riders. We also stock spare parts both genuine and pattern as well as service parts for both brands we sell new and others we don't.
As mentioned previously, Dale & Mike (in the Workshop) are both Piaggio, Vespa & MP3 trained, dedicated technicians who service and repair to the high standards that people know us for. They are fully competent and will MOT test multi-brand, multi-sized Motorcycles / Scooters & Mopeds while you wait.
We are as accommodating to the customer who desires 'just' one pair of gloves to the customer who seeks the whole package (i.e. the actual vehicle, CBT training, Road Insurance, helmet and clothing...and the finance to pay for it all!).
